CEBU, Philippines – The Office of Cebu Provincial Prosecutor has indicted a father and his four sons, including an in-law, who yielded illegal drugs and firearms during a buy-bust operation.
Assistant Prosecutor Richard Abangan Sr. held Rodulfo Fiel, 66, and his sons Manuel, 40; Marvin, 34; Mario, 26; and son-in-law Joselito Lariosa, 24 for trial.
Senior Police Officer 1 Romeo Barde, case investigator of Minglanilla Police Station, said they had filed separate criminal complaints against the four accused for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Rodulfo is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms after an improvised frontier revolver and 25 bullets of an M16 rifle were seized from him.
Manuel was charged for selling illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms after he sold a small pack of shabu to a police decoy in exchange of P200.
Police conducted buy-bust operation against Manuel who was considered a level three drug pusher in the town. Upon Manuel’s arrest, the police confiscated a pack of shabu, buy-bust money, and a .357 revolver with live rounds of ammunition from him.
Meanwhile, Marvin was charged with possession of illegal drugs after nine marijuana sticks were recovered from him. Mario is facing charges for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia because of the 25 packs of shabu seized from him.
Joselito on the other hand was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both Mario and Joselito were also indicted for drug use after the police caught them sniffing shabu. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
