CEBU, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay loves to have a “boodle fight” everytime he visits Cebu. Yesterday, however, there was none after he damaged his teeth while eating lechon during lunchtime.
“Nasira yung pustiso ko pagkagat ko sa balat ng lechon. Nasasarapan ako sa balat ng lechon,” said Binay while apologizing to local and national media reporters waiting for him at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Binay and his senator daughter Nancy donated hydrating fluids for the hospital’s dengue patients.
They were in Cebu also for the Visayas-wide launching of the United Nationalist Coalition, a political party of which he is the chairman.
“Pasensiya na at medyo na-late ako kasi pinaayos ko pa yung ngipin ko,” he said while showing his newly-repaired tooth.
Binay was scheduled to arrive at VSMMC at 2:30 p.m. but he came at past 3 p.m. only.
Sheila Uy, Binay’s Cebu liason officer, said the vice president had to go to Dental One Clinic, owned by her husband Troy, a cosmetologist dentist, to fix his false tooth.
After the VSMMC visit, Binay went to a radio station for an interview and heard mass at the Basilica del Sto. Nino. — (FREEMAN)
