CEBU, Philippines- The Cebu City Council has approved the on-site subdivision development to be undertaken by the city government for its socialized housing project in Barangay Inayawan.
The council approved last week the resolution sponsored by councilors Alvin Arcilla, Nestor Archival Sr., Alvin Dizon, and Lea Japson. The project covers a 4,095-square meter property.
The City Zoning Board recommended before the council the approval of the city’s application for on-site subdivision development as required under the Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of the Philippines.
The City Council, however, has made a condition that suitable fire hydrants and corresponding pipelines should be installed.
The city government through the City Planning and Development Office submitted an “application for subdivision approval” on January 20, 2014, requesting for a preliminary approval of a development plan of a simple subdivision project in Sitio Dumping Site in Barangay Inayawan containing 77 lots.
Attached to it was the set of scaled subdivision scheme showing the proposed subdivision layout, lot dimensions, aggregate lot areas, with vicinity map and location plan showing circulation network as well as the existing landmarks, facilities at least 100 meters from the project boundary.
On March 28, 2014, the CPDO endorsed to the Local Housing Board through the Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor, the applications of the five on-site development subdivision of the city.
The housing board then passed a resolution recommending for the approval and endorsed to the CPDO the five subdivision projects that would be placed under the Socialized Housing Program of the city government.
On the April 14, 2014, the LHB agreed to recommend for the approval of the five subdivision projects after thorough discussion and deliberation and endorsed it for the City Council’s approval.
The project will now be referred to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-7 for the approval of the other requirements such as the technical description of the area. (FREEMAN)
