CEBU, Philippines- The Integrated Bar of the Philippines - Cebu Province Chapter has launched its official website for it to better serve its members and the community.
IBP-Cebu Province Chapter President Gonzalo Malig-on Jr. said they intend to be more accessible to member-lawyers and to the public through their new and user-friendly website.
“Uso na ang social networking. We have to keep up with the times,” he said.
The website was launched on July 28, or Tuesday last week.
In particular, Malig-on said the public need not to go to their office anymore if they want to check on the name of a particular lawyer.
He said the website provides the list of the lawyers under IBP-Cebu Province, in particular, and all lawyers whose names appear in the Roll of Attorneys of the Supreme Court, in general.
Malig-on said the website will also help the public to determine the legitimacy of the lawyer they are dealing with, or inquire from the website administrator for the contact information of the lawyer.
As for the member-lawyers of the chapter, he said they can be updated with the activities of the organization through the website, which also provides links to various websites, such as that of the Supreme Court and the IBP national chapter, for their journals.
The IBP-Cebu Province Chapter has a total of around 1,300 members.
With the website opening up lots of possibilities, Malig-on said they also plan to provide an updated directory, particularly phone numbers and addresses, of trial courts and their respective judges all over the country for easy reference.
A legal aid corner for the benefit of the public will likewise be made available in the website soon.
