CEBU, Philippines- A birthday party was hosted by the government for the symbolic 100-millionth babies born in Central Visayas last year.
One of them was Paul James Gregory Entis who turned one-year-old yesterday. His birth was among the significant births made in the country as he symbolized the 100-millionth Filipino baby born in the region.
Along with other babies born at 12:06 or seconds or minutes later in the chosen government health facilities nationwide exactly one year ago yesterday, Paul James also symbolizes the government’s call to usher in hope for better quality of life, giving importance to the challenge to make the Filipinos count in development where each Filipino is able to live in a healthy, productive and livable environment.
During the birthday celebration hosted by the Commission on Population, Department of Health, and PhilHealth, the agencies have assured that Paul James and the other five “100-millionth babies” in Central Visayas will have easy access to education and health care.
Paul James and the other 100-millionth babies were given PhilHealth insurance and other gift packs.
Cristina Ramos, chief social insurance officer of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, said the six symbolic babies in the region will be given affordable, accessible, and acceptable health care services including inpatient and outpatient coverage, catastrophic and special packages as well as primary care benefits.
PopCom-7 Director Bruce Ragas said they can also avail of the government scholarship programs. (FREEMAN)
