Shabu worth P10T seized in drug ops
CEBU, Philippines- Suspected shabu worth at least P10,000 were confiscated and 12 people were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the province on Saturday.
As early as past 6 a.m., police arrested James Alforque, 30, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Colon, Naga City after he sold a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
Police recovered the subject of the buy-bust and the buy-bust money from him.
Alforque is facing charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
Less than an hour later in Bogo City, police arrested Joseph Guevarra, 18, in Barangay Bungtod also during a buy bust operation where he sold two small packs of shabu worth P400 to a poseur buyer.
Police later recovered 24 other small packs of shabu from him during frisking. They also recovered the buybust money, mobile phone, and P500 believed to be proceeds of the sale.
Based on estimate by the Dangerous Drugs Board, the confiscated shabu is worth P11,328.
Guevarra is detained at the Bogo Police Station stockade and will be facing charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
Two hours after Guevarra’s arrest, police in Dumanjug town arrested Ronald Manolong, 25, for selling a pack of shabu worth P200 to the police.
When frisked, police recovered a small pack of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money from Guevarra, as well as a caliber .357 revolver with three bullets.
Guevarra was brought to the police station and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions.
In Talisay City, police ended up arresting seven people when they served a warrant of arrest against Elmer Gasalatan, 53, in Barangay Tangke, at past 8 p.m.
Inspector Windell Abellana and his team went to Gasalatan’s house to serve the warrant for selling drugs when they chanced upon six people there bringing drug paraphernalia.
They were identified as Kenette Sembrabo, 30; Alberto Santos, 42; Benjamin Alpuerto, 26; Elvin Allasgo, 36; Alberto Cabahug, 23, and Reynaldo Labajo, 39, and are now facing charges for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gasalatan, meanwhile, will be turned over to the court.
At past 11 p.m., two men were arrested in Consolacion after authorities found out that it was a pack of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia that they threw to the ground when they saw a barangay tanod patrolling the area.
Arrested were Junel Dayday, 43, and Danilo Capangpangan, 35.
The tanod, Bryan Cantina and his fellow tanods went after the two, after Cantina confirmed the items on the ground. (FREEMAN)
