CEBU, Philippines- A 29-year-old man who was out on bail for a homicide case was gunned down by unidentified assailants while attending a benefit dance in Barangay Alegria, Tuburan town yesterday.
Jeffrey “Opao” Alindao, a resident of Barangay Kabangkalan, died immediately of several gunshot wounds to his back.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was dancing at a benefit dance at past 12 a.m. yesterday when unidentified assailants arrived and shot him several times, hitting his back.
The victim died instantly while the perpetrators escaped by blending into the crowd, which went into a commotion when shots were fired.
Responding policemen found a slug and seven empty shells of a cal. 45 pistol from the crime scene.
The police are eyeing revenge as the possible motive behind the attack on the victim, who was out on bail after getting arrested for a homicide case.
In 2008, Alindao was injured after he was also shot by his neighbors, a certain Badwin and Noel, while playing a card game. (FREEMAN)
