Teen kills man over guessing game

CEBU, Philippines - A 21-year-old man died after he was shot by a teenager following an argument allegedly over the serial number of a peso bill Saturday in Carmen town.

Juan Moral, a resident of Barangay Baring, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City after he suffered from a gunshot wound on his back.

He was reportedly shot by Randy Caputol, of Barangay Cogon East, using a cal. 38 revolver.

Police Officer 1 Cristito Aresco, desk officer of Carmen Police Station, said prior to the incident, Moral and Caputol were playing by guessing the serial number of a Philippine peso bill when they figured in a heated argument.

The two then engaged in a fist fight when Moral tore the money and were eventually pacified by residents in the area.

Caputol went home but came back in the area already armed with a handgun and reportedly shot the victim.

Elements of Carmen Police Station conducted a hot pursuit operation against Caputol, but they failed to arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead by his companion while they were having a drinking session outside a store in Barangay Canamucan, Compostela town Saturday night.

Senior Police Officer 2 Pedro Enriquez of Compostela Police Station said Calisa was drinking with Boy when they allegedly got into a heated argument.

Boy reportedly pulled out an unknown caliber of firearm and shot Calisa twice on the left side of his chest.

Calisa was rushed to Danao City Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
