Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines- An underloaded round of ammunition somehow saved a 27-year-old factory worker who was shot by an unidentified person Sunday dawn in Barangay Poblacion, Carmen, Cebu.

Junvin Dorong, of Barangay Dawis Norte, Carmen, survived from a gunshot wound in the mouth.

Police Officer 1 Cristito Aresco, desk officer of Carmen Police Station, said the victim was lucky that the bullet used by his attacker was underloaded otherwise he could have died. Aresco said the victim just spat the bullet out.

“Minus og power ang bala, basin kuwang sa sulod sir o ang pulbora gisulod gikombenar. Ang bala sir naay baratohon, ug mahalon to’ng bala lapos to sir uy,” Aresco explained.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was having drinking session with his friends when the shooting happened.

The victim was rushed to Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City. A hot pursuit operation is currently being conducted by the police to arrest the gunman.  (FREEMAN)
