Grace Melanie L. Lacamiento - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The celebration of Valentine’s Day in Cebu City was generally peaceful. This was according to Cebu City Police Office officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Conrad Capa who said that there was no major incident reported to them yesterday.

“Maayos naman. Walang naging problema,” Capa said, adding that there were no crimes of passion recorded.

Earlier, CCPO tightened its security with the anticipated influx of couples in dating areas most, especially at night, for the observance of the Valentine’s Day.

The 11 station commanders were directed to deploy their police personnel since Friday evening in their respective areas where couples were expected to flock to on February 14.

Increased police visibility was observed in areas known for dating in Cebu City such as restaurants along Salinas Drive and parks such as Plaza Independencia, Fuente Osmeña and the South Road Properties among others. —BRP (FREEMAN)
