CEBU, Philippines - Eleven people were arrested in three separate anti-drug operations conducted by the police in Tuburan town and the cities of Cebu and Toledo over the weekend.
Rogie Colegado, 42, was arrested by the members of Tuburan Police Station Saturday morning during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 1. Colegado tried to escape after a transaction with an undercover policeman but was eventually arrested.
The police bought a pack of shabu from him worth P300. The police also served a search warrant against Colegado resulting in the seizure of five more packs of shabu found inside his house.
In Toledo City, suspected level three drug pusher, Emily Navarro, 39, was also arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion. Aside from Navarro, the police also arrested her alleged cohort, Emerito Barquin.
Navarro and Barquin allegedly sold a pack of shabu worth P500 to a poseur buyer.
However, the two reportedly noticed the presence of the police and tried to hide inside the house where two more suspects, Epefania Ubas, 40, of Barangay Luray Dos, and Trece Alcomendras, 30, were sniffing shabu.
All four of them were arrested and brought to Toledo City Police Station where they are currently detained pending the filing of criminal complaints.
In Cebu City, six people were also arrested by the elements of Pari-an Police Station during a raid in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Lorega last Saturday morning.
The suspects were identified as Michel Martinez, 24; Joeres Macabinlar, 28; Jamay Ga, 21; Darling Arolde, 30; Mark Alesna, 32; and Roel Lozano, 38.
The suspects were inside the house of Jessie “Tangi” Lozano, 59, a suspected drug pusher subject of the raid. Jessie, however, eluded arrest.
The police were armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 10 Judge Soliver Peras.
All arrested drug suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
