Man kills self
CEBU, Philippines - A fast food chain manager was found dead Saturday evening inside his house in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.
John Paul Basallo, 35, manager of the Talamban branch of a fastfood chain, was discovered with gunshot wound in the head. Police believe that Basallo committed suicide because he was holding a gun when his wife found him inside their room.
Initial investigation shows that the wife came from a party when she noticed that their house was dark and the gate was closed. The wife told the police that she found her husband lying on their bed bathed with blood.
The wife called for medical assistance from the Talisay Rescue Emergency Action Team. Rescued personnel responded and declared Basallo dead.
Police investigators found a caliber .38 revolver in Basallo’s right hand. The gun was loaded with five rounds of ammunition with one empty shell in its cylinder.
Senior Police Officer 1 Benjamin Sebellita said that the wife told them that her husband has a problem with his job.
Sebellita said the wife did not elaborate but she believes it was enough reason for her husband to commit suicide. (FREEMAN)
