Man gunned down in Dalaguete
CEBU, Philippines - A man died after he was shot several times by motorcycle-riding men Friday in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete, Cebu.
Alberto Tagalog, 31, died instantly after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Initial investigation revealed that Tagalog was walking towards the house of his parents at around 8 p.m. when a motorcycle with two men onboard arrived.
The unidentified assailants fired at the victim several times.
The police arrived and brought Tagalog to Julio Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital where the attending physician pronounced the victim dead on arrival.
An empty shell of an undetermined caliber of firearm was recovered from the crime scene.
The police are now trying to determine the identity of the assailants and their motive behind killing the victim.
Last September, the victim’s live-in partner, Jenny Vergara, was also found dead in Barangay Consolacion.
The body of Vergara, who was believed to be a victim of summary execution, was already in an advanced state of decomposition when found by the police.
The victim’s P500 cash was still found, but her tablet worth P5,000 was missing.
Investigation is underway to determine if the same persons are behind Tagalog and Vergara’s death. —NSA (FREEMAN)
