Argument over P10 behind man’s suicide?

CEBU, Philippines - A man committed suicide after he and his wife allegedly argued over P10 in Sitio Mangga, Barangay Bahay, Sibonga, Cebu yesterday morning.

Exequiel Angelus Nudalo, 25, was found dead by his mother Angelina Cudira.

He was believed to have apparently hanged himself on a sineguelas tree using an electrical cord.

In an interview, Police Officer 2 Ederlino Bacusmo said it was 6 a.m. yesterday when his mother went outside their house  and saw Nudalo hanging on a tree.

Bacusmo narrated that Nudalo and his live-in partner Irene Tamang had an argument over P10 the night before. Before the argument, Nudalo’s mother gave them P10 for their tricycle fare.

Bacusmo said when the couple decided to go to Cebu City for work, Nudalo suggested that they walk through the grassy portion of the ricefield instead of walking through the river and ride a tricycle towards the highway.

However, Tamang allegedly wanted to walk through the river instead walking through the grassy portion of the ricefield.

After Tamang accepted the P10, the argument between the couple started and Nudalo walked away without saying where he would go.

Bacusmo said Nudalo was partially drunk before the incident.

The couple decided to postpone the plans of going to the city because of the argument.

Nudalo is a part-time car painter while Tamang is a babysitter. Tamang that night decided to sleep when Nudalo walked away.

Bacusmo said that during the argument Nudalo did not talk about suicide.

The couple also did not have any major argument before the incident.

Police officers did not also find any signs of commotion in the area where the body was found.

They are conducting further investigation to find out if there was foul play involved in the incident. (FREEMAN)
