CEBU, Philippines - A suspected Level 2 drug pusher who ran previously for councilman in Barangay Lorega San Miguel was arrested with P1.3 million worth of shabu yesterday.
Eric Rafols, 34, was arrested by operatives of the City Intelligence Branch during a buy-bust operation at past 6 p.m. The operation also yielded 21 medium packs of shabu.
City Police Director, Senior Supt. Noli Romana, said Rafols was placed under surveillance for a week. After they confirmed his participation in the drug trade, they hatched the operation at his house in Barangay Lorega and bought from him a pack of shabu worth P3,000.
Authorities swooped down on Rafols after the sale was consummated.
A subsequent search of Rafols’ belongings yielded 20 other medium packs of shabu placed inside a tennis balls canister and cash worth P3,000 believes to be proceeds from the sale. This is on top of the P3,000 marked money the police used during the bust.
CIB chief, Supt. Romeo Santander, said that Rafols could dispose of up to 300 grams of shabu a week. He reportedly had just received a fresh supply.
Santander said Rafols maintained a low profile such that his neighbors are reportedly unaware of his activities.
Santander said only the “trusted customers” were allowed inside Rafols’ house and he would reportedly sell the drugs in small quantities at a shanty located one block away from his residence. – (FREEMAN)
