CEBU, Philippines - Two men were arrested after they yielded firearms in separate incidents in Cebu City on Thursday while a suspected carnapper was arrested Wednesday evening.
Elements of Cebu Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office apprehended 25-year-old Eric delos Neves, of Upper Kawayan, Barangay Sambag Dos, for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The police were conducting roving patrol in the area around 1 a.m. when they spotted the suspect holding a home-made black widow revolver.
Delos Neves was arrested after he was not able to present a license authorizing him to carry the gun.
The confiscated firearm was loaded with ammunition for a cal. 9mm pistol.
On the same day, 22-year-old Reynaldo Inot of Sitio Lawis, Barangay Pasil was arrested by barangay tanod Randy Maranga for possessing a cal. 38 revolver with no cylinder.
Maranga reportedly caught the suspect entered his house at 6 a.m. and immediately arrested him.
Meanwhile, one Jerome dela Rosa, 20, was arrested by virtue of citizen’s arrest after he was reportedly caught dragging the motorcycle of Donna Dawn Cabesisi, 25, which was parked outside her residence in Barangay Tisa.
Dela Rosa, a resident of Lower Magkagong, Sibonga, Cebu, is temporarily detained at Punta Princesa Police Station and will face charges. — (FREEMAN)
