CEBU, Philippines - Hundreds of passengers from different shipping lines were displaced the other day after the Cebu Ports Authority ordered the abandonment of CPA Passenger Terminal 3 (formerly 2Go Terminal) effective October 15 for safety reason.
“Yes, CPA ordered its abandonment for safety reasons kay pag-Tuesday afternoon, naay nipaka ilalom sa terminal. Duda sila nga ni cave-in ang foundation,” said CPA spokesperson Karen Quinañola-Gonzales.
As posted on its website, the following would be the changes in passenger and vessel accommodation:
• For Supercat, passengers at Passenger Terminal 1 (Pier 1) and Vessels shall be at Pier 1.
• For 2GO vessels, passengers at Passenger Terminal 1 (Pier 1) and vessels shall be at same berth assignment.
• For Roble Shipping, passengers at Passenger Terminal 1 (Pier 1) and vessels shall be at same berth assignment.
• For Lite shipping, passengers at Passenger Terminal 1 (Pier 1) and vessels shall be at same berth assignment.
• For Medallion shipping, passengers at Shed fronting 2GO Terminal and vessels shall be at same berth assignment.
• For Trans Asia Shipping, passengers at Shed fronting 2GO Terminal and vessels shall be at same berth assignment.
• For VG Shipping, passengers at Shed fronting 2GO Terminal and essels shall be at same berth assignment.
Gonzales said the CPA management will repair the 20-year-old terminal next year. (FREEMAN)
