CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 75-year-old grandmother believed to be a drug pusher in an anti-illegal drug raid in Barangay Bolinawan, Carcar City past 2 p.m. on Friday.
Beatrice Secretaria of Sitio Cambuntan, Barangay Bolinawan was arrested after police officers recovered several packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from her house after the implementation of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 19 Judge Wilfredo Fiel Navarro.
Police officers went to the suspect’s house and implemented the search warrant.
Carcar City Police recovered a medium-sized pack and 12 small packs of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia after police searched the house.
Secretaria was immediately brought to Carcar City Police Station after the inventory of the recovered evi-dence witnessed by Barangay Captain Michelle Gador and Barangay Councilman Ruben Ortiz.
Secreataria will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile a 34-year-old was arrested by Liloan Police in a buy-bust operation past 3 p.m. on Friday in Sitio Suba, Barangay Poblacion.
Vivencio Raterta Jr., 34, was arrested after a police poseur buyer was able to purchase a pack of shabu from him using P200 marked money.
The said operation was personally led by Senior Inspector Ramil Morpos, Liloan Police Station chief.
A poseur buyer tricked the suspect into selling him a pack of shabu and when the transaction was consummated, he was immediately arrested.
Recovered from him were a pack of suspected shabu and the P200 marked money. When police officers frisked him, they have also confiscated five small packs of suspected shabu.
Police officers also recovered another P200 believed to be sales proceeds.
He was brought to Liloan Police Station and will be facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
