More rain in the next 4 days

Jessa Agua - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - There is no need to keep the umbrellas just yet, at least in the next four days.

PAGASA Visayas chief Oscar Tabada said yesterday that rain can still be expected, especially in the afternoon.

“Five days ning ingon ani nga panahon. Nag-start siya today (yesterday) until Saturday,” Tabada told The Freeman.

The incoming weather disturbance, which will be named “Ompong” (international name “Vongfong) is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility but Tabada stressed this will not affect Cebu and the Visayas region.

“Si Ompong, layo ra kaayo na sa atoa. Dili na makaapekto nato pero ang ITCZ (Inter-tropical Convergence Zone) ang magdala ug ulan,” he said.

“Musud kadayot sa PAR ang bagyo, expected Wednesday, dayon musaka padung Japan,” he said.

Along with regular weather advisories come warnings of possible flooding and landslide especially along areas identified by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources geohazard mapping assessment. (FREEMAN)
