CEBU, Philippines - The Office of Carcar City Prosecutor has indicted a suspected drug pusher who eluded arrest during the implementation of the search warrant in July for four criminal cases.
City Prosecutor Anabelle Robles held accused Darrel Saducas, a resident of Sitio Baha-baha, Barangay Liburon, Carcar City, for trial after she found probable cause in the complaints filed against Saducas for illegal possessions of firearms, explosives, dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.
“Respondent has not presented any evidence contravening such allegation. All told there is overwhelming evidence presented by the complainants to establish probable cause that a violation of Republic Act 9165, RA 10591, and Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 were committed, and that the respondent is probably guilty thereof and should be held for trial,” prosecutor’s resolution said.
Elements of Carcar City Police Station led by Police Inspector Arvi Arbuis, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 agents, implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Wilfredo Navarro against the accused on July 17, 2014.
PO1 Paulino Traya and PO1 Francisco Saberon said while they were on their way to Saducas’ residence, the accused managed to escape.
“Suddenly, a male voice from the upper post shouted ‘police.’ After which there were sudden movements at the structures. Two lookouts followed by the subject Saducas rushed uphill towards the grassy and vegetated area,” the police said, adding they followed the fleeing men who managed to elude arrest.
Arbuis directed his team to secure the premises and presented the search warrant to the sister of the accused. The search was conducted at around 6:30 a.m.
The police recovered firearms, ammunitions and magazines, a hand grenade, illegal drugs totaling 86.61 grams and drugs paraphernalia. — (FREEMAN)
