3 fall, shabu packs seized in raids
CEBU, Philippines - Close to 150,000 worth of shabu were confiscated from three men in separate raids in Cebu province in two days.
In Barangay Tugbongan, Consolacion, police arrested alleged drug pusher and illegal gambling coordinator Appollo Niel Vidal, 45, after he was seized with 12 grams of suspected shabu in his house worth around P141,000, several tip sheets, and a video karera machine.
Consolacion Police led by Senior Inspector Franco Rudolf Oriol were armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Teresita Galanida of the Regional Trial Court Branch 56, Mandaue City when they raided Vidal’s house at 4 a.m.
Two large packs of suspected shabu, two cellular phones, P4,475 cash, several tally sheets, tip sheets and drug paraphernalia were found inside Vidal’s house, resulting to his arrest.
The suspect is now detained at Consolacion Police Station while the police are set to file charges for violation of Sections 11 and 12 of Article 2 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and for violation of RA 9287 or the Act Increasing the Penalties of the Illegal Numbers Game against him.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Balirong, Naga City, police nabbed two men who were seized with several packs of shabu and a firearm early Saturday morning.
Police led by Superintendent Brindo Nacario were also armed with a search warrant when they raided the house of suspects Ruel Canonigo, 38, and Eric Requinto, 24.
Two medium-sized packs and five small packs of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale, P2,000 cash, and several drug paraphernalia were recovered from Canonigo.
Police also confiscated from Requinto a cal. 38 revolver, three pieces live ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.
The warrant was issued by RTC Branch 18 judge Gilbert Moises.
Canonigo will face charges for violating RA 9165 while Requinto will face the same violation as well as for violation of the Comprehensive law on Firearms and Ammunitions. (FREEMAN)
