Robbers hit gasoline station
CEBU, Philippines - Two persons with guns robbed a gasoline station and disarmed its security guard past midnight yesterday in Barangay Talamban.
The unidentified robbers reportedly posed as customers before declaring the robbery, the police report showed.
Per investigation, two men on a motorcycle arrived and asked the attendants to have their motorcycle filled with gas.
A few moments later, one of the men approached the station guard Abeso Corredo, 22, and disarmed him of his 12-gauge shotgun.
“Pagbasa nako’g news, pagduol sa usa, miaksyon ko’g barog. Ingon siya, ‘ayaw na lang palag chief, ambi na lang ‘na imong armas para wala’y mahitabo nimo nga daotan,’” Corredo said. He has only been assigned at the gas station for two days.
The other man proceeded to the cashier’s booth and demanded money from the female cashier while pointing a gun at her.
In fear, the cashier immediately handed over the money to the robber.
“Nagdala og armas, niingon nga ‘ayaw lang palag ha kay kwarta la’y akoa,’” the cashier narrated.
The robbers carted away the establishment’s day sales amounting to P18,000 and sped off towards Cabangcalan, Mandaue City.
Talamban police chief Senior Inspector Bienvenido Miral said they will get a copy of the footage of the closed-circuit television camera to possibly identify the robbers.
Miral said the robbers’ faces could easily be recognized as they were not wearing full face helmets.
He said they are still waiting for the gas station owner to have access to the CCTV footage. (FREEMAN)
