CEBU, Philippines - A taxi company manager and a 14-year-old student who reportedly received constant berating from employer and parents, respectively, have committed suicide.
Albert Angeles, 38, manager of VNM Taxi Transport Inc., shot himself dead yesterday morning inside his rented apartment in Barangay Tingub, Mandaue City.
Angeles was found dead by his brother, Anthony, at 6:30 a.m. with gunshot wound in his right temple. A caliber .45 pistol was also found beside him.
Aileen, Angeles’ wife, was shocked upon learning the incident because she did not know her husband has a problem.
It was only learned from the suicide note left by Angeles that he ended his life because his employer has been constantly berating him because of erring taxi drivers.
Angeles was recently scolded by his employer, Valentin Mendoza, because some of their taxi units have been impounded.
In his suicide note, Angeles asked for forgiveness from his two children, wife, and parents. He also left and advice to the taxi drivers.
“Sa mga drivers sana honest lang sa kompanya asa mo nagtrabaho, sorry pod mga anak kay dili na kaya ni papa ang problema, mga anak, pasayloa ko ninyo, love you mga anak” read a portion of his suicide note.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old high school student in Daanbantayan also committed suicide Tuesday. The boy was found dead inside his room with a nylon rope tied around his neck.
PO3 George Banatasa said the boy was scolded by his mother over personal issues before he was found dead.
According to Banatasa, the boy went inside his room after his mother berated him.
When the mother checked on him later, he was already unconscious lying on the floor. The boy was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. — (FREEMAN)
