CEBU, Philippines - Beneficiaries of the 6.5-hectare relocation area in Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City has agreed to adopt a common design for their houses to be funded out of a soft loan from the Social Housing Finance Corporation.
The 12 presidents of the homeowners and five of their members gathered Saturday at the Mandaue City session hall to come up with the proposed design.
The officials of the homeowners ended up adopting the old design used by the other beneficiaries who have relocated ahead of them.
The design was a two-storey with balcony and attic sitting on a 28-square meter lot made of bricks called Interlocking Compressed Earth Block manufactured by the federated homeowners’ association.
Housing Urban Development Office head Tonypet Juanico said that he was glad with the outcome of the meeting.
“We are doing this aron ma-involved gyud ang community,” Juanico said.
Juanico added that he was also glad that the SHFC has offered P250,000 loan for each of the beneficiaries payable within 25 years. To avail of the said loan, each homeowner is required to have an efficient loan payment of 80 percent starting August. (FREEMAN)
