City gets 3 new ambulances
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City government has acquired three new ambulances to be used by barangays during emergencies.
City Councilor Dave Tumulak said two ambulances were assigned to the Basak Pardo Emergency Response (BPER) while the other one was assigned to Barangay Tisa.
Tumulak said BPER also turned over two of its used ambulances to Barangay Apas and Barangay Sambag 2.
Tumulak who organized BPER while still the barangay captain of Basak Pardo assured that the ambulances are for anyone who seek for emergency assistance.
“Bisan kinsa ang mo-request og tabang nga magpahatod og ambulansya paingon sa ospital amo g’yud nga tabangan sa BPER sa wala’y pagpinig og bulok-politika,” he said.
A representative from Toyota Motors Corporation personally delivered the brand new ambulances to the City Hall last Thursday.
The three ambulances were purchased through funds from the Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corporation and have brought to nine the total number of ambulances owned by the city government that were issued to the barangays.
To ensure that the ambulances are ready for response at all times, Tumulak asked the General Services Office (GSO) to provide sufficient fuel. (FREEMAN)
