2 men hacked, stabbed dead

CEBU, Philippines - Two people died in separate stabbing and hacking incidents in Cebu City and in the province recently.

In Sambag 2, Cebu City, Raymond Buyoc, 23, died after he was stabbed and hit on the chest by his elder brother Roland Buyoc, 36.

Prior to the incident, the siblings had a brief fistfight.

The elder brother walked away but when he saw his younger brother who was sitting in a small alley, he stabbed him in his chest.

The victim was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect was arrested by Fuente Police and is now detained.

The police recovered the bloodied kitchen knife from the suspect believed to have been used in stabbing the victim.

Meanwhile in Barangay Piyo, Tabogon town, a drunken man was hacked to death by the father of a boy who he allegedly punched on Friday night.

Elmo Hortelano, of Barangay Maslog, died after sustaining several hacked wounds from suspect Julito Brigoli, 44.

Initial investigation conducted by the police revealed that the suspect and the victim were drinking in front of Tabogon public market prior to the incident.

At past 7 p.m., they both decided to go home but on their way home, the victim allegedly punched the suspect’s son.

The suspect allegedly then attacked the victim and hacked him several times.

The victim died in the hospital while the suspect surrendered to the police.   (FREEMAN)
