CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu provincial government after two months has finally named Tactical Security Agency and GDS Security and Detective Agency as its official security providers for its different facilities.
Over 200 security guards from the two agencies will be deployed today, according to Capitol’s chief of security Loy Anthony Madrigal.
Madrigal said everything is set for the deployment as the equipment of the two security providers are all complete based on the inspection conducted yesterday.
“All set na gyud sila tomorrow (today) at 7 a.m. Ready to go na. Ato na silang gi-check unya kumpleto man,” Madrigal told The FREEMAN.
Madrigal added that the deployment would also cover district and province-run hospitals and the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
CPDRC management had requested for augmentation and replacement for six jail guards who would be reassigned after having been suspected facilitating the sneaking of illegal drugs into the jail.
Madrigal said there would be an ample number of security guards to be deployed at CPDRC.
To recall, Tactical and GDS security agencies passed the post-qualification evaluation after having qualified in the bidding.
Tactical Security posted a bid offer of P20 million for a difference of P1.1 million from Capitol’s P21.1 million approved budget for the 1-year contract while GDS Security’s bid offer was P16.9 million as opposed to Capitol’s approved budget for the contract of P17.3 million.
Tactical is expected to secure Capitol’s facilities in Area I, which covers those in northern Cebu and Cebu City. Area II, covering the province’s facilities in southern Cebu and Cebu City, will be assigned to GDS.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III entered into the contracts with the two security providers last Monday. (FREEMAN)
