CEBU, Philippines - The income of the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management has decreased by P14,000 in July compared to the month of June.

CITOM executive director Rafael Christopher Yap, however, said that the revenue collections in the month of June and July are usually low compared to the first and last quarters of the year.

“Given nga nag-uwan sige sa July, so affected atong operations sa pay parking ug sa uban, and nag-focus pud mi sa manning of the traffic,” he said.

In its report submitted to the Police Coordinating Advisory Council, CITOM has only a total collection of P5,768,680.30 for the month of July while the June collection was  P5,782,222.50. Yap explained that the decrease does not imply anything wrong since they are still within their target collection.

CITOM has a target income of P65 million for the year with a monthly target collection of P5.5 million. For this year, the highest income so far was recorded in January with over P8 million.

“Mamawi naman pud mi’s collection namo by November,” Yap said.

Even with the decrease of their income last month, CITOM operations head Joy Tumulak said that they will continue to intensify their campaign against erring drivers.

“Part gyud sa reason sa decrease ang kaning pay parking fee, kay usa sa naka-contribute gyud sa decrease ang ato pong implementation sa discount sa PWD ug sa senior citizens,” he said.

For the month of July, CITOM has collected P3, 111, 320 for the pay parking alone which is considered as the highest contributor of the income. Tumulak said that the pay parking fees for those vehicles parked in designated parking areas of the city is P20 per hour.

Other fees are the administrative penalty, clamping fees, impounding fees, and testing fee, among others; P1, 437, 390.30; P489, 100; P142, 125; and P132, 300, respectively. — (FREEMAN)
