PRO-7 chief awards 6 cops

CEBU, Philippines - Police Regional Office-7 awarded six police personnel from Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group and Regional Intelligence Division-7 for their great work on anti-illegal drugs operations and for successful implementation of Integrated Research Information System.

The awarding was held during the flag raising ceremony at PRO-7 grounds yesterday morning.

PRO-7 Chief Prudencio Tom Bañas personally awarded the Philippine National Police Merit Medal to three RAIDSOTG personnel and the PNP Efficiency Medal to three RID personnel.

Police Senior Inspector Henrix Bancoleta, Police Officer 2 Jason Yap and Police Officer 1 Julius Codilla of RAIDSOTG received the Medalya ng Kagalingan for their performance in the implementation of the anti-illegal drugs operations.

The team arrested two suspected illegal drug pushers with 315 grams of shabu worth P 3.7 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Labangon last June 10.

Meanwhile, Police Senior Inspector Randy Caballes, Police Officer 2 Josephus Liston and Police Officer 1 Romeo Roma of RID-7 received the Medalya ng Kasanayan for their successful integration and implementation of IRIS.

IRIS is a system that integrates data such as criminal bio-profile, wanted list, watch list and other classified files made available to all units of PRO-7 and the intelligence community through the Virtual Private Networking.

Bañas in his speech encouraged all police officers to continue doing their duties with sincerity and vitality and to give pride to PNP.

Bañas recognized Police Officer 1 Mark Wilson Roa who was photographed helping a senior citizen change a flat tire and praised him for his good deeds as an additional pride to PNP and how it will change the public’s regard to policemen.  (FREEMAN)
