CEBU, Philippines - Most of the officials of Mandaue City belong to the millionaires club based on their latest sworn Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) released by the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas.
Topping the list of millionaires in the city government is Councilor Emmarie Dolores Dizon who declared a net worth of P38.4 million as of December 31, 2013. She had a liability of P7.3 million.
Dizon declared P35.3 million real properties comprising of residential lots, buildings, and condominium unit. She declared P10.5 million personal properties which include five vehicles, four motorcycles, jewelry, and cash in bank.
Dizon also declared at least 15 companies where she has business interests. She is a shareholder of Classic Gem/Agencia Niño de Cebu, Vistamar Beach Club, Ayala Sports Club, NS Royal Pensione, Club Ultima, and NS Shooting Range. Dizon is also a franchisee of Jollibee Bogo, Jollibee Carcar, Jollibee Liloan, Red Ribbon Consolacion, and Jollibee Cybergate.
She is also the proprietor of Sweat Gym, You Resto & Bar-Cebu Inc., and Time Republic Manpower & General Services. She listed five relatives in government, including her father, Board Member Thadeo Ouano.
Mayor Jonas Cortes is at far second with a net worth of P20.7 million with P5.8 million liability. He has P9.1 million real properties and P18.2 million personal properties.
Completing the millionaires’ circle are Councilor Beethoven Andaya, P15.2 million; Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede, P11.2 million; Councilors Nenita Layese, P5.8 million; Jimmy Lumapas, P1.7 million; Editha Cabahug, P1.7 million; and Jose Jefferson Ceniza, P1.2 million.
The officials who are not in the millionaires club are ABC president Ernie Manatad who declared only a net worth of P740,219; Councilors Demetrio Cortes, Jr. , P514,000; and Diosdado Suico, P204,500.
