Man stabs pregnant lover for refusing sex with him

CEBU, Philippines - For refusing to have sex with him, a 27-year-old a man reportedly stabbed his pregnant live-in partner inside their house in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City on Sunday.

The man, a painter and a resident of the place, allegedly stabbed his 32-year-old live-in partner after she refused to have sex with him.

Based on the initial police investigation, the woman was resting inside their bedroom when he asked to have sex with her but she refused.

This made him angry and went out of the room. But he then returned with an ice pick and suddenly stabbed her several times.

While shouting for help, the victim’s mother rushed to the room but the suspect was no longer inside.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office  said the suspect admitted to the crime because of jealousy.

“Nagduda na kuno siya (suspect) daan nga aduna’y lain iyang pares mao mobalibad na sa pakighilawas kaniya, hinungdan nasuko siya ug iyang gidunggab”, Cuyos said.

“Selos ra gyud ang hinungdan ngano nahitabo to”, Cuyos added.

The woman was rushed to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. She sustained four stab wounds to her stomach and is scheduled to undergo an operation.

Eugenio later surrendered to PO1 Baldwin Silvano of Cebu Provincial Public Safety Company of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.

He is currently detained at the CCPO Detention Cell while the victim is determined to pursue a case against him.

2 killed in shooting incidents

Meanwhile, two men were killed in two separate shooting incidents in Cebu City on Sunday and yesterday.

Mark Blanquero, 26, of Sitio San Roque, Barangay Lorega San Miguel was shot dead allegedly by his neighbor Anecito “Tata” Esperanza around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Initial police investigation revealed that the victim was eating mango on the roadside when the suspect suddenly kicked and pushed him. The victim stumbled on the ground.

Esperanza then reportedly shot Blanquero when the latter managed to stand up and ran away.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office said personal grudge was seen as the motive behind the shooting.

The victim was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center but was pronounced dead moments later. He sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and left arm.

The suspect eluded arrest from the responding barangay tanods and policemen.

In Barangay Suba, a certain Leonardo “Negro” Torreon was shot dead by an unknown gunman in Sitio Seawall around 4:45 a.m. yesterday.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim was sleeping on a wooden bench along the pathway when the gunman appeared and shot him twice.

Recovered from the crime scene were two pieces of slugs and one empty shell apparently of caliber 45.

Torreon was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center but was pronounced dead due to serious gunshot wounds to his head.  (FREEMAN)
