CEBU, Philippines - At least six persons were arrested and some P7,000 worth of shabu were confiscated in two separate buy-bust operations last Thursday.
In Canbanua, Argao, Cebu, at 11 a.m., police pounced on alleged drug suspect Jassie T. Oyangoren, 36, while his alleged cohort, Jonathan “Athan†Amarillo, escaped.
Seized from the suspects were nine small sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P4,500 and sniffing pa-raphernalia. Amarillo, the subject of the operation, was able to escape upon noticing the presence of the police.
Oyangoren was caught in the act of handing a sachet of shabu to a police who posed as the poseur-buyer.
“Wala na ka-eskapo si Jassie kay nagunitan naman siya sa among “poseur-buyer†said Senior Inspector Alejandro Batobalonos, chief of Argao Police.
A case for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was filed against Oyangoren and a case for being at large was filed against Amarillo.
Meanwhile, in the town of Cordova, Robic Sanchez, 27; Rogie Sanchez, 20; Johnmart Suicano, 22; Michael Escoto, 22; and Johnrey Dubala, 23, were arrested at 6 p.m. after they were seized with P2,500 worth of shabu.
Recovered from the suspects were five pieces of the same white powdery substance believed to be shabu and an elongated tinfoil.
The suspects are currently detained at the Cordova Police Station detention cell and will also face charges. (BANAT NEWS)
