CEBU, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration-Cebu District VII will soon have officers assigned to assist foreigners entering the country through Mactan Cebu International Airport.
BI-Cebu District VII alien control officer Casimiro Madarang III said these officers will be known as “BI-CARES†or Courtesy, Accountability, Responsibility, Efficiency and Services.
The program was initiated by BI Commissioner Seigfred Mison.
“Naa nay mga BI-CARES officers sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport and soon magbutang sad sa MCIA. They will assist foreigners especially those ang mga nagdali,†said Madarang.
The program is the deployment of a friendlier, more customer-oriented troop of immigration officers who will create a more enviable environment for travelers, local and foreign alike using the country’s international ports.
Mison said that the bureau intends to empower both the traveler and the immigration officer by ensuring that the traveler gets the most in terms of efficient services and immediate assistance from the latter.
Mison added that immigration officers are there to maintain discipline in immigration counters, as well as serve as the country’s brand ambassadors.
The said officers will also be strictly implementing immigration laws especially against those who want to leave the country using fake or fraudulent travel documents. (FREEMAN)
