Statement of former Rep. Eduardo R. Gullas on pork barrel scam

CEBU, Philippines - I have absolutely no dealings ever with Napoles or any of her associates or employees. I don’t know her, neither have I met her.

My PDAF is given to the LGUs in my congressional district —the three cities and municipalities.

GMAP, the Gullas Medical Assistance Program started by my brother, Rep. Jose “Dodong” Gullas, for indigent patients-constituents of the district at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.  Gullas scholars, many of whom are now professionals in different fields, are also regular recipients.

 Public School Teachers Cooperatives in the three cities and municipalities are also beneficiaries for their bona fide members.Expenditures for the establishment of the four public colleges and 82 national high schools in Congressional District 1 are covered by our PDAF allocations, so also are scholarship grants for college scholars.

In all my years in public service: 10 years as Governor of Cebu, 25 years as congressman and three years as City Mayor of Talisay City, I have always protected and valued my credibility and the humble reputation of our family like I value and protect my life.

I will never do anything to dishonor our humble name. (FREEMAN)
