CEBU, Philippines - Police are eyeing love triangle for the death of a 26-year-old department store employee who hanged herself in her rented room past 8 p.m. on Friday in Barangay Pahina Central, Cebu City.
Michelle Perez Guiamlod, a native of Zamboanga City, was found dead by her cousin who was visiting her.
SPO1 Ruth Violango said that they found out a number of text messages on Guiamlod’s phone.
She said the messages apparently came from a lesbian and it appeared that Guiamlod did not want to have a connection with her anymore.
When her cousin visited Guiamlod, she was suspicious that something happened to her because her room was dark and the ceiling fan was turned on.
The cousin called for help to open the door and they saw Guiamlod already on the floor, lifeless.
The Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation arrived but Guiamlod was already unresponsive and showed no vital signs.
Violango said that from the time Guiamlod took her life, it was probably eight hours after her body was discovered.
Guiamlod’s body will be subjected to a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man took his own life Friday night in Barangay Mandakit, Argao town after his wife rejected his request for her not to go back to work as an overseas Filipino worker.
The victim was identified as Benigno Albo, 43.
Argao Police Station Desk Officer PO2 Renato Macaytuna said Albo begged his wife not to go back to her work abroad but she refused due to their financial needs.
The victim then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot himself.
The victim, who sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and chest, was immediately brought by the responding police officers to the ICKM Hospital in Poblacion, Argao but was declared dead on arrival.
Recovered from the area were a .45 caliber and a magazine with five live ammunitions. (FREEMAN)
