Provincial ABC to enroll members to PhilHealth
CEBU, Philippines - The Association of Barangay Councils in the Province of Cebu is enrolling at least 40 officials and workers each barangay to the PhilHealth group insurance program.
ABC president, Provincial Board Member Celestino “Tining†Martinez III, said Capitol is paying the annual premium of P2,400 for each beneficiary.
Martinez said the Provincial Health Office has set aside more than P100 million to enroll elective and appointive workers in 1,093 barangays in the province.
The barangay captains are the ones who identified the beneficiaries subject to screening by Philhealth.
Martinez explained that those on the list but already have PhilHealth coverage are no longer qualified for the program. He called on barangay captains who have yet to submit their list to submit it as soon as possible.
Martinez said they are aiming to distribute the PhilHealth identification cards during the ABC general assembly in June.
Dependents of cardholders are also entitled to hospitalization benefits at Philhealth accredited hospitals.
Martinez assured zero billing for member-beneficiaries. (FREEMAN)
