Collision of three cars kills pedestrian
CEBU, Philippines - A collision of three vehicles along Escario Street, Kamputhaw, Cebu City Saturday evening killed a pedestrian, identified as Virgilia Ocampo, 56, a resident of the said place.
Investigation conducted by PO2 Chady Jawel Jungoy disclosed that one PRIVE Honda Sedan driven by Conrada Lim, 76, and a Toyota SUV driven by Eddie Benigay, 43, were both tra-velling in the same direction towards Gorordo Avenue.
Lim accidentally bumped the rear portion of the Toyota SUV which led her to lose control of her car.
It reportedly swerved to the left and hit a Suzuki multicab driven by Ranjet Vabor, who was supposedly executing a right turn to Escario Street.
While the PRIVE Honda Sedan continued running, it accidentally hit the victim who was walking along the street. The victim was thrown and hit an electric post.
The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Lim was held by the traffic personnel of the Cebu City Police Office but was later released after an amicable settlement was reached between her and the family of the victim. (FREEMAN)
