CEBU, Philippines - Rehabilitation works by the national government may soon start in Cebu’s Yolanda-hit areas.
This, after Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery Head Panfilo Lacson has promised to submit the budget to President Aquino.
“Naka-submit naman ta sa atong provincial rehab plan. He (Lacson) will submit it to the president… di na kuno siya mopaabot sa ubang probinsya. Then we can expect nga ma-process na,†said Davide in an interview with the media.
The province has submitted a P10 billion budget for the rehabilitation of the 15 towns affected by the super typhoon in November last year.
Meanwhile, Davide said Lacson also promised him he will recommend to the president to declare the lots, where damaged public buildings stand, alienable and disposable.
This, after the Commission on Audit has disallowed reconstruction of public infrastructures which are situated in timberlands or lots that are not alienable and undisposable. (FREEMAN)
