Swede nabbed for gun, drugs

CEBU, Philippines - A Swedish national was arrested by City Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office operatives after he was caught in possession of a gun and a pack of marijuana inside a call center office in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City Wednesday afternoon.

Chief  Inspector Romeo Santander, CIB chief, identified the suspect as Andreas Mikail Larrsamils, 35, who is temporarily residing in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Santander told the media that the owner of the call center (named withheld) reported to his office that the suspect is a frequent visitor.

Each time he visits the place the suspect would show off his gun, saying “here’s my gun.” He would also reportedly show the marijuana to some of the call center employees.

Santander sent some of his men to verify the report.

At past 5 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect was seen at the vicinity of the call center and upon his entry, a security guard made a routine check on his belongings.

The guard noticed that the suspect was bringing a Derringer Black Widow caliber .22 magnum revolver loaded with five live ammos.

Policemen immediately arrested the suspect and upon further search, they found a bundle of dried marijuana leaves worth P10,000. They also found several dried stalks and leaves of marijuana inside a container.

Santander believes that the suspect is a marijuana dealer and his customers are call center agents.

The suspect will be facing charges for violating the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunitions and the comprehensive dangerous drugs law.  (FREEMAN)
