Burglar takes away money, things worth P1.7M
CEBU, Philippines - Burglars broke into a rented room in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City and carted away money and valuables amounting to P1.7 million.
The victims, Rommel Dumalag and Noel Los Baños discovered the theft past 5 p.m. Tuesday when they arrived at the room and found out that the padlock had been destroyed.
Dumalag said he lost P13,000; two laptops worth P30,000 each; a Magful Airsoft Gun worth $20, 000; two jeans worth $110 each; Gearber utility tools worth $130; shades worth $320; headset worth $15, 000 and a wrist watch worth P2,800.
Los Baños, meanwhile, said he lost his laptop worth P35,000 and two pairs of shoes worth P6, 000.
Chief Inspector Noli Cernio of the Theft and Robbery Section told The FREEMAN that they got hold of a suspect evening of the same day and the suspect reportedly agreed to have his finger prints examined and cross-matched with those gathered from the crime scene.
Cernio said he has given his men until today to find the culprit otherwise he will personally take part in the investigation. — (FREEMAN)
