CEBU, Philippines - Two minors and a 19-year-old man who were allegedly involved in a robbing incident were turned over to the Operation Second Chance and the Cebu City Jail after failing to post the bail of P100,000 each.
Sidmark Bayking of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, was handed over to the Cebu City Jail while his companions, boys with ages 14 and 15 years old, were turned over to the Operation Second Chance upon the order of Judge Ester Veloso of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court.
The suspects were arrested on February 17 after allegedly robbing Damelito Nacua Mangyao Jr., 19, at a gas station along Legaspi Street in Barangay Sto. Niño.
The three suspects opted not to avail themselves of their right to a preliminary investigation.
Cebu City Prosecutor II Mary Ann Castro found probable cause to elevate the case before the court.
Meanwhile, elements of Police Station 9 arrested two minors and a 25-year-old man last Wednesday morning at Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
SPO2 Arturo Lawas Jr. said that the minors and a certain John Gonzaga of Good Shepherd Banawa were caught in the act of stealing cable wires.
The police confiscated from the suspects several pieces of cable wires and one Sunriser motorcycle.
The suspects are now detained at the Police Station 9 pending the filing of appropriate charges. (FREEMAN)
