CEBU, Philippines - A man was killed after he was hit and run over by a cargo truck on the national highway in Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City, shortly before noon yesterday.
Michael Shane Micaros, of Barangay Poblacion, Compostela town, was heading to Carcar City from Cebu City when the incident happened. He was on board his Kawasaki Rouser motorcycle with license plate numbers 2675 IP when the accident happened.
Traffic officer SPO1 Eduardo Bagol said that Micaros was tailing a Mitsubishi cargo truck with license plate numbers GDN 532 driven by Claudio Laroa, 37, of Barangay Papan, Sibonga, which was hauling cement to Sibonga town from San Fernando.
Bagol said Micaros tried to overtake the truck and intruded into the other lane, not noticing that Ronda’s municipal ambulance (SJW 248) driven by Rogelio Vergara, 63, of Barangay Casayahon, Ronda, was approaching. Vergara was driving a patient to Cebu City at the time.
Micaros was hit by the ambulance then thrown underneath the truck and crushed.
