Pacman to watch dancing inmates
CEBU, Philippines - Boxing champ and Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao will watch the performance of the famous dancing inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).
Pacquiao is expected to be in Cebu next week to visit Governor Hilario Davide III.
"On January 23, Pacquiao will visit Gov. Davide at the Capitol. And from there they will go to the CPDRC to watch the dancing inmates," said Capitol public information officer Ethel Natera.
On January 22 to 24, the province will also hold the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo at the southern part of Cebu wherein Davide is expected to be there.
But Natera said Davide will only be participating on the first day of the three-day activities, hence he will be at the Capitol to meet Pacquiao.
It is not, however, clear as of yesterday the purpose of the boxing champ's visit in Cebu, said Natera. She could not also say if it is something political.
Pacquiao and Davide are from two different political parties.
While Davide is with the Liberal Party of President Benigno Aquino III, Pacquiao is with the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban (PDP-Laban) of Vice President Jejomar Binay.— /GMR (FREEMAN)
