Road mishap hurts two in Carcar City
CEBU, Philippines - Two persons were injured after a Mitsubishi Strada fell into a ditch in Sitio Tan-awan, Guadalupe, Carcar City yesterday morning.
Roman del Pilar, 18, and his live-in partner Angelica Soterio, 18, both from C. Padilla, Cebu City, suffered injuries and were rushed to Carcar Provincial Hospital.
The victims were heading for Ronda when the accident happened past 4 am.
PO1 Dennis Cabajar, traffic investigator, said the driver, Ian Asparo, 37, of Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City, was unharmed.
Cabajar said the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a blind curve and fell into the ditch.
"Diha gyud sa duol sa pangpang ug wala sila mahug sa kanal lagmit sa pangpang sila punta," Cabajar said in a phone interview.
According to Cabajar, the road was wet when the accident occurred because of the rain brought about by the low pressure area.
"Basta ingon aron ga uwan-uwan mag-amping gyud pirmi ilabi na anang blind curve ug dulhugon nga mga dalan," Cabajar reminded the motorists. (FREEMAN)
