CEBU, Philippines - A businesswoman lost almost P100,000 worth of valuables after her house in Garden Bloom Villas, Barangay Cotcot, Liloan was allegedly burglarized by a lone suspect while she was away in Manila for a month.
According to the police, Louwin Fiel, 32, will be filing a case against the cousin of her husband, Tomas Ughoc III, 21, who allegedly stole things from her house while she was in Manila since last month.
Fiel discovered the burglary when she arrived Tuesday around 11 in the morning.
The police said though that the burglary did not take place within a day and the suspect reportedly took things from time to time.
“Gi-anam-anam mana ug alsa sa suspek paggawas sa subdivision wala gyud ingon gidungan,†said PO3 Renato Pendo of the Liloan Police station.
Pendo said that the security guard reportedly tried to reprimand Ughoc but the latter reasoned that he was told by Fiel to pull out the valuables.
Among the items lost were pieces of silver earrings and necklace worth P10,500; an air conditioner worth P32,000; an Orocan cabinet amounting to P2,000; a PSP player worth P1,800; an LPG tank priced at P1,500; stove at P1,500; tables and chairs worth P8,000; a subwoofer priced at P5,000; and a scooter worth P600.
Pendo said that Ughoc forcibly entered the house by destroying the padlocks of the main door.
Police tried to look for Ughoc at his house in San Antonio, Barangay Jubay but he was no longer around.
Ughoc reportedly has theft complaints but so far no one has filed a case against him.
Police said that Fiel will be filing a criminal case against Ughoc.
“Amo to gipabalik for filing of case kay desidido man mo-file ang biktima ug kaso,†Pendo said. (FREEMAN)
