Toledo’s most wanted man caught

CEBU, Philippines - The police have arrested Toledo City’s most wanted man last Saturday.

A relative who was with him was also jailed for having an unlicensed firearm in his possession.

Floriano Barazon, 48, was collared in Sitio Cipress, Barangay Dumlog, Toledo by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Ruben Altobar of the Regional Trial Court Branch 29.

During his arrest, the suspect yielded an unlicensed caliber .357 revolver with five bullets.

The police also handcuffed Barazon’s relative, 41-year-old Margarito Barazon, 41, after they discovered a similar revolver with four bullets with him.

Chief Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, Toledo City Police Station chief, said Barazon has also been implicated in robbery incidents and other criminal offenses, making him the most wanted person of the city.

Furthermore, Barazon is reportedly also feared by neighbors for going wild often and firing a gun indiscriminately, among other crimes.

Bastes likewise said Barazon is a gun-for-hire and that someone in Toledo City controls him.

The police caught Barazon after receiving a tip on his presence in Sitio Cipress.

Bastes said with Barazon’s arrest, they expect the number of criminal incidents in Toledo City to substantially decrease.

The suspect is temporarily detained at the Toledo City Police Station jail pending his presentation before Altobar tomorrow.  (FREEMAN)
