CEBU, Philippines - Motorists are cautioned of a traffic rerouting tomorrow as two national roads will be closed to give way for the 37th National Milo Marathon.
The Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) has advised that Osmeña Boulevard, from P. Del Rosario St. to N. Escario St., and N. Escario St., from Don Gil Garcia St. up to the portion fronting Mc Donald’s will be closed from 3 am until the event is finished.
Private vehicles coming from V. Rama Ave. may access Maria Cristina St. in going to Ayala.
While for Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ), those coming from Guadalupe and Banawa shall take V. Rama Avenue, then turn left to J. Alcantara St. or N. Bacalso Ave., and turn to P. Del Rosario St.,then right turn to Osmeña Blvd. and to their usual route to Carbon Area. In going back, they shall follow the same route going to V. Rama Ave., then back to their point of origin.
PUJs coming from Lahug and Apas via Escario St., while traversing along Gorordo Ave., shall turn right to F. Sotto St., then take another right to Gen. Maxilom Ave., turn left to F. Ramos St., turn right to Junquera St., and another right to Sanciangko St., then to their usual route going to Carbon Area. In going back, they shall follow the same route of PUJs from Lahug via Gen. Maxilom Ave., then back to their point of origin.
While PUJs going to Ayala coming from Labangon with route No. 12L, will pass through their N. Bacalso Ave route., then shall go straight to P. Del Rosario St., turn left to D. Jakosalem St., take another left turn to Echavez Extn., then right to F. Ramos St., another right to Gen. Maxilom Ave., and finally to their usual route to the Ayala Loading/Unloading Area. From Ayala, the PUJs would need to traverse Archbishop Reyes Ave., turn right to F. Sotto St., to Gen. Maxilom Ave., turn left to F. Ramos St., then to Junquera St., turn right to P. Del Rosario St. going to N. Bacalso Ave., then right turn to V. Rama Ave., then turn left to Duterte St., and to their usual route until they reach their point of origin.
The notice, which is signed by Attorney Rafael Yap, acting department head of CITOM, reminds motorists, drivers, and other road users to follow the traffic signs installed on the re-routing area. —ATO (FREEMAN)
