CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Government may take legal actions against the former provincial budget officer Emme Gingoyon if he continues to refuse to turn over a government vehicle earlier issued to him.
Governor Hilario Davide III told reporters that he will refer the matter to Provincial Legal Officer Orvi Ortega.
“If maginahi gyod siya, then we will take further actions,†Davide said.
Davided said Gingoyon is no longer in service and should be responsible enough to return the vehicle.
Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) head Eva Encabo has requested Gingoyon twice to “turn over all government-owned properties under your accountability to the Provincial General Services Officeâ€.
Encabo has been ordered to have all the necessary reports on all inventories of province-owned properties prepared.
Gingoyon reportedly refused to return the vehicle as he still has a pending motion for reconsideration because he believes that the dismissal order from the Office of the Ombudsman is not yet final.
Gingoyon was dismissed by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales last Jan. 25, 2013 with former provincial treasurer Roy Salubre and provincial engineer Eulogio Pelayre for grave misconduct in relation to the controversial Balili lot purchase in 2008. (FREEMAN)
