CEBU, Philippines - Vice president Jejomar Binay has confirmed his attendance at the oath taking ceremony of reelected Cebu City Michael Rama on Sunday.
Rama yesterday told reporters that the schedule of Binay, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) chairman, has been fixed. The vice president will administer the mayor’s oath and the Team Rama’s winning candidates. Team Rama is the local affiliated party of UNA during the May 13 midterm elections.
Binay will be in Cebu straight from Samar to join the oathtaking of Rama, vice mayor-elect Edgar Labella, and allied councilors-elect Dave Tumulak, Mary Ann Delos Santos, Hans Abella, and James Cuenco.
It will be held at the Plaza Independencia this coming June 30 in the morning. To keep the activity short, Rama said it will only be him and Binay who will give speeches during the program.
He then reiterated that this is an event not just for Team Rama but for every Cebuanos who wish to join them while marking the start of his fresh mandate.
“It will be open to all. This is not exclusive to Team Rama members and supporters only,†Rama told reporters.
The new set of local government unit officials will start reporting for their office the following day.
This will be the second term of Rama. Plaza Independencia has been the venue of Team Rama’s major political activities including their proclamation rally. (FREEMAN)
