“Shabu tiangge” in Tabunok?

CEBU, Philippines - A store allegedly selling illegal drugs in plain view in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and is reportedly run by a drug lord, has prompted a concerned citizen to send a letter to the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Senate, Malacañang, church and Talisay City officials.

The said problem reportedly raised concern among residents of the place.

The concerned citizen explained that the store is known as Shabu Tinda-Tinda where packets of shabu are placed for sale with cashiers and canvassers staying nearby. It also operates like a sari-sari store.

The said store allegedly even operates with minors selling shabu to customers.

The FREEMAN withheld the name of the alleged drug lord pending investigation of the police.

The concerned citizen even disclosed in his letter that the drug lord is known in the entire province of Cebu and is handling several key municipalities, including Talisay and Toledo as well as some barangays in Cebu City.

“He was able to establish a drug ring powerful enough to penetrate even the towns and cities in the province,” he states in his letter sent to The FREEMAN.

The complainant said that in Naga City, the drug lord maintains a level-two drug pusher who can sell P1 million worth of shabu in a month. Another drug ring is also operating in Cebu City.

The said drug lord and his cohorts’ source of drugs is reportedly someone from Colonia, Mindoro.

The complainant further said that the drug lord also plays like a leader of Mafia for he always brings with him bodyguards armed with long firearms. Even during the gun ban, he and his bodyguards are allegedly freely holding firearms. Nobody was arrested.

“We cannot expect our children to grow free from the influence of illegal drugs because of drugs in our place which could destroy their future…with prayer for operations against the drug ring of the drug lord,” the concerned citizen stated.— (FREEMAN)
